Problem Statement

Architectural Software is constantly evolving and changing, making them challenging for users to keep up with new features, updates, and best practices. Traditional learning resources may not be able to keep up with the pace of change, leading to outdated information and ineffective learning. Traditional classroom-based training can be expensive, inflexible, and time-consuming, while online courses and tutorials may lack personalized guidance and interaction.

Stakeholders

  • Students from a design background or have been working with design software and want to increase their skill set by adding new techniques into the learnings.
  • Professionals who have been in the field of design and want to increase their knowledge by adding new milestones and learning upcoming updates to new software in the field.
Objectives
  • Saving up all the skill sets that users have been learning from various platforms.
  • Validate the Skillset for Linked In and other Professional platforms.
  • Save all the tips and tricks that the user keeps forgetting because of constant upgrades in the software.
  • Suggestions for upcoming software and adding skillset in your experience. Users should also be able to put video recordings from previous learnings.
Research Objectives
Lo-Fi Sketches
Lo-Fi Test Insights
  • Add functions for easy access to new softwares.
  • Show progress and insights about new features in the software.
  • Suggestions for similar softwares to add to the experience.
  • The main objective is to put a clickable option to make the learning process easy and user-friendly.
  • Navigation could be added for multiple softwares and skills to add to professional career growth.
  • Having all the tricks and tips in one place would be helpful.
  • Add more shortcuts and command-related functions for easy use.
  • Time-saving techniques and videos should be there on the platform.
  • Storage space for all files and it should be cloud base. easy to find a solution.
  • Unpaid service would be beneficial to learn new software every time.

Hypothesis

In order to have an understanding of design software and its features, a user should have all the learnings saved in one platform which allows them to use the information when itโ€™s needed. By putting shortcuts and functions for various design software and services which would be beneficial for students and working professionals who would like to increase their skills in the design field. The usage of this service will incorporate the validation for learned skills and can increase the learning possibility for similar software in the field.

  • Understand how Users feel about saving all the skills they have learned in the past and use them for their future learnings.
  • Investigate how users navigate through the application and perform given tasks.
  • Get insights into how the user uses other functional platforms in order to get the information.
  • Get to know how the current UX with similar functions in other platforms.
  • Understand the number of possibilities to add various field options to choose from the initial interviews.
Methodology
The research consisted of nine different interviews with users who were design students or connected with the design field in one or another way. The interviews were run on Zoom or in person according to the availability of the participant. The Interview consisted of 6-8 foundation questions and from there I asked a few follow-up questions in order to get more insights from the user. On top of that, I brought some Lo-Fi sketches in order to get some feedback from the users as well.
1.Surveys 2.Interviews 3. User testing 4. Competitive analysis
Data Collection
Semi-structured interviews with each participant were conducted, focusing on their experiences with design softwares and their thoughts on the idea of a skill-saving platform. I also asked participants to complete a survey that included questions about their current Skill learning platforms, their attitudes toward skill-based learning and connecting with experts in the field, and their preferences for a platform that could help them showcase their skills.
